Fundraiser for Hurricane Sandy Relief

Join us to show your support for those impacted by hurricane Sandy on the east coast. What a great way to come together as a community, meet new friends and help those in need.

Event Summary.
The Portland community is known for giving back and for helping those in need. When hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast on Oct 29, 2012, I immediately began thinking of how I could help those displaced by the storm. Not just because I am grateful to call Portland my home, but because I was born and raised for most of my life on Staten Island, NY. One of the hardest hit areas, many in my Staten Island community have lost their homes, memories and unfortunately loved ones. Then it hit me…bring the Portland and NY/NJ communities together via a fundraiser for hurricane Sandy relief.

Grand Central Bowl in SE Portland, has graciously offered to host this fundraising event in conjunction with the PDX Giving Circle. Planned for Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 2-4pm, this event will allow the Portland community to strengthen our ties with one another, while supporting a great cause. Speaking of the cause, all event donations will be sent directly to the Tunnel To Towers foundation on Staten Island, ensuring all money will stay in the communities impacted by hurricane Sandy. Tunnel To Towers was founded to honor a fallen 9/11 fire fighter.

During the fundraiser, supporters can meet-and-greet others in their community, bowl a game or two, play pool, or simply sit back and enjoy great food and drinks. In addition, door prizes will be raffled off throughout the event.

Come out to support this great cause, while meeting others in the Portland community!

As bowling lanes are limited, please sign-up today to reserve your spot, or let us know you are coming to cheer on your fellow bowlers. See below for sign-up details. All donation amounts are minimum request, so feel free to donate as much as you'd like!

NOTE: While Grand Central will accept credit cards for food and drink, we can only accept cash for fundraiser donations. Remember, you can donate online in advance - either below via the Donate button or directly at www.tunneltotowersfoundation.org. If you donate directly to the organization, make sure to bring your receipt with you to the event, as this will be your only confirmation of payment for the event.
