PDX Giving Circle

Welcome to the PDX Giving Circle, a volunteer group supporting the local Portland community and those in need

What is Giving Circle?

A giving circle is a way to bring the community closer together, while supporting local causes and community outreach.

How does a Giving Circle work?

The PDX Giving Circle helps in two ways:

  1. Monthly Drawing. Each month, we will gather for a meet-n-greet, where we can get to know others in our community who are passionate about giving back. It’s a great way to make new friends while making a positive difference. Each member who wishes to participate that month can drop as many $10 tickets as they'd like into a hat. One name will be drawn and that winner will choose which organization the collected donations will go to for that month.
  2. Special Causes. A special cause is where the charity or cause is pre-determined. For example, helping the victims of hurricane Sandy or adopting a family for the holidays. During the special event, no monthly drawing will be held. The money received at the meet-n-greet and/or supporting event(s) will go toward the specified cause.

How can I get involved?

Contact us at pdxgivingcircle@ymail.com for information on joining our next meet-n-greet or if you have a cause you would like us to support.

Note: The PDX Giving Circle is not a 501(3)(c) organization simply because the paperwork would be voluminous trying to track $10 and $20 donations individually. Our mission is to support 501(3)(c) organizations in the community as well support community outreach activites. You can, if you choose, earmark your donations for your charity of choice (for a raffle pull) or tell us simply to “add to general fund” for community outreach activities.
